Proceed cautiously to the side passage & check it out.

If it leads within 20 feet to a door, go check that door, if it doesn't seem unusual, SOP, listen then open it.

Stop early if we see anything down the end of the main passage.

The side passage goes at least 30' if not more. Head south to the door, or follow the east passage?

Franklin listens at the door while Wiglaff is investigating the side passage.

Yes, let's all check out the south door.

After the normal precautions, you open the door on to a roughly 30 x 40 room - 30 feet wide centered on the door, 40' long. On the south end, there is an exit leading 20' to another door. On the west wall at the 20' mark is a 10' side passage to a door

Dominating the east wall is a large glass ball suspended 5 feet in the air by a chain from the ceiling. The ball seems to be filled with silver pieces, with the occasional glint of a gold coin among them

Wiglaff stops dead in puzzlement.

"Wait a moment, this looks familiar..."

He recalls a room on the 1st floor with skeletons shackled to the walls & an identical glass ball.

He looks around suspiciously for any sign of guardians.

"Yes, familiar indeed," Aldbane says."However, that was a bowl, this appears to be closed on all sides. It seems to obvious a trap, I am not willing to break the glass. I say we move on unless one of you has another idea."

Franklin suggests, "We have come too far to risk our lives for silver pieces. There might be some puzzle to solve here, but let's move on. I'll listen at the west door, if someone wants to put their ear on the door to the south."

"Franklin," whispers Wiglaff, "I think that door leads into the bouncy-floor room."

Wiglaff will go listen at the south door.

Nothing is heard from behind either door
