I'm going with Aldbane and Rhod and Grampus ready to receive the charge, but then a dazzling prismatic spray of colors flashes out, and the ape keels over.

Wiglaff pats Grampus on the shoulder.

"I wish it had listened to you, my friend, but perhaps we have an opportunity here. We could tie the creature up, bring it to the surface, and sell it!

"What do you all think?"

While the party deliberates on this, Wiglaff beckons Phillippe over and takes his plate armour from the porter. He gets suited up, then unslings his battle-ax.

"That does seem more humane than killing it," muses Franklin. He reassures his dog Sconces, who seems terrified of the giant ape.

"Perhaps that wizard we met would pay us for it," Aldbane muses.

Vesh moves up & studies the White Ape as he's never seen one in person and only heard vague rumors about it. "Hmm I'd have thought it would be a bit more robust than that. That being said, I might need to study more on the Color Spray spell the next time we reach the surface", he then says - more to himself than anyone else.

"And we need to tie it up really well," Maloof adds, "I'm sure it's much stronger than it looks and when it wakes up it'll be pissed. Who's got some strong rope?"

Grampus ponders, “I guess if we’re going to take the ape to town we might as well do it straight away, then we can return after a refresh to our questing.”

Wiglaff has 50' of rope. He quickly sets about to hogtie the ape as securely as possible.

Franklin tears a strip from the hem of his coat and with the cloth blindfolds the ape, to keep it docile when it wakes up.

"Yeah, we'll need to move pretty fast to get that thing to town safely," Rhod says. "I'll help carry it but somebody sharp has to be in front scouting the way so we don't run into any surprises."
