Neither Franklin nor Wiglaff hear anything behind the doors. Then the party hears a voice from the eastern corridor, where it turns north. An obvious mage stands there, in a neutral stance. "Halt strangers! Go no further without peril! This is our territory."

Vesh whips about to face the Mage before settling into a non-threatening stance but ready for action if the need arises and then says,"Who are you?".

"Beyond that far door is fair game for all. We study magic here, and are willing to trade scrolls, magic items and spells. Also, we are currently at war with a pair of wizards to the east. Perhaps we could team up, clear them out, and split the loot?"
