At the edge of the light, 30' west, he sees doors on both sides of the corridor

Wiglaff edges back a bit so that he's somewhat shielded by the door frame, but so he can still keep watch down the corridor in both directions, and waits for the inspection of the goblin dispenser to be completed.

Grampus peers into the coin-slot on one of the containers. Does he see a goblin head? An empty space? Something else? If visual inspections are inconclusive, he inserts a slender object, such as one of his iron spikes, into the slot and listens for the satisfying crunch of goblin bones.

The slot goes about an inch, hits more solid material, then looks like it slopes away towards the wall. A coin dropped in would probably disappear somewhere

Grampus considers the possibility of hammering iron spikes into the slots, jamming them and preventing anyone from inserting coins. Does that seem like it might work? The only problem is that he only has 6 spikes. Is anyone else carrying spikes?

I think that plan would be an effective way of disabling the generator, if that is the route you choose to go

"Alas I have no spikes. But only one working generator is better than seven!" Aldbane says.

Grampus warns his friends, "This might get loud so you better keep watch." The four dwarves work with efficient teamwork to jam the coin slots with iron spikes. Grampus jams an arrowhead into the seventh slot and breaks off the shaft. "It's better than nothing." If he can think of a way to destroy or disable the lever, he will do that too. Perhaps a well aimed blow from his hammer is all it would take.

Wiglaff continues to stand in the north doorway and keep watch east & west down the wide corridor.

Maloof is still with Wiglaff, watching in the opposite direction.
