Re: Delve the Fourtth

After the appropriate listening, checking etc, Rhod forces the door open into a large chamber, 40 feet wide, replete with caryatid columns of yellow stones depicting maidens carrying water.

Rhod looks around quickly, including at the floor and ceiling. If he sees nothing moving, and nothing else amiss, he'll enter the room.

(If he does see something moving, he'll alert the party and then take other action.)

Re: Delve the Fourtth

All seems still and quiet. It looks like a 20' wide corridor exits from the east side of the room

Maloof moves to the right/south and looks behind the columns. He tries to look east so that he can see behind all of the southern ones at once. If it's too dark to see, he will call for light.

Re: Delve the Fourtth

Catweazle will direct Ivar and Sigmund to guard him against sudden attack by enemies or inexplicably animated statues as he examines the nearest statue on the north side of the room. He will look first, then tap with his staff. If the first yields nothing of interest, he moves on to the second, and so forth, muttering all the while.

"Statues! Gargoyles! Caryatids! Tche! What are you hiding, eh? Eh? Give up your secrets!"

Grampus directs his dwarves to fan out and inspect the statues for unusual stonework. He himself starts with the nearest statue in the southern row.

There seems to be nothing hidden behind the columns, which may be decorative or loadbearing, he is not sure

Just hard enough to detect any secret hollow spaces, not hard enough to cause damage.
