While the others haul Catweazel up, Golguldir gives the birdhead corpses a quick look over. What manner of creatures are these, he wonders, and do they carry any treasure?

Serech will pull him up. Looks like we need to get more rope!

Imagine a super-sized, well-muscled goblin, except feet and hands are replaced by talons, and the head has been replaced by a griffon's head. One had 4 gold pieces in a pouch, the other had 8 gold pieces.

Dangling seems not to agree with Catweazle. "Feh! Foo! my gut is squuezed and my pipes are crushed! We need more rope, more rope is what we need! They are a-cooking and a-broiling in an ogre's pot down there, their armour all stuck and glued to its insides. Tche! But no, the ogre's sleeping and now dead, methinks, so their gooses should be cooking no more. But a baker's dozen and two feet short of rope we were, cannot we lengthen our string somewhat? Eh? Eh? Are you LISTENING?"

It just so happens that Serech has 6 iron spikes and a hammer...

"With a few more spikes, this might be made easier."

Eventually you tie sacks together and extend the rope with that, anchoring it with steel spikes, and a rope is let down that should allow those below to climb up

"I hope these poor hessian sacks will bear a weight..." Golguldir muses. But so long as they facilitate getting the company back together all is well. He awaits the safe return of his Man who went below. Meanwhile, he collects the meager gold of the bird-men.
