It is the best wine he has ever tasted

Rhod shakes his head in disbelief.

"Surely that can't be the way to live to ripe old age," he mutters to himself.

He doesn't touch the wine or the water. Instead he keeps an eye on those who do, in case something happens to them.

"Ach! Ech! Tabletrickery! Companions, shall I try to pull the cloth from beneath yon silvery and crockery!? Eh?" Catweazle moves to gingerly touch a finger to the cloth on the left-hand table.

The table fills with cheeses, salted meats, and loaves of bread

Catweazle gets unbecomingly excited at the prospect of free grub.

"Tche! Tche! Magic victuals, young fellows! Gather yon glowing sheets and bring them along, and we'll never be scalped by a greengrocer or butcher again! Eh? What say you?!"

At this, Rhod's resolve starts to weaken.

He goes to the last table and touches the cloth.

It generates cornocopiae of fresh fruit and vegetables, and pots of honey

Catweazle will stuff some bread, cheese, salt meat, and hard fruits into his sack. He will then attempt to pull the tablecloth that he touched out from beneath the food, giggling excitedly beneath his breath. Wisdom was never his strong suit ...

Catweazle gathers and stores the food, but when he goes to pull the table cloth, it won't budge!

"That seems like a good idea," Rhod muses. He, too, will stash some of the food in a sack.

It'll be interesting to see what happens once we leave the room...
