[pc Human,M-U]Sullivus[/pc] will whisper, "Let's shade our lantern, extinguish our torches for now, and send good Mr. Potts on another scouting expedition."

Re: [03] The Ziggurat

Potts looks nervously back in the direction of the deceased Vargas, then back at his remaining companions. With a resigned sigh he then proceeds ahead to peak beyond the doors. As always remaining in the shadows and taking great pains to make as little noise as possible.

Re: [03] The Ziggurat

| Dungeon exploration turn 3.11 begins.
The referee dices for a chance encounter 1d6=1, so no such thing is forthcoming for now. |

[pp Man,cloak,dagger,lantern,12,4/4]Sullivus[/pp] shutters his lantern casting the company back into dimness; the primary light source in the plaza is now the creeper-choked breach in the wall, some way back.

However, the passage and chamber beyond the doors is yet illuminated by an eerie orange light, and our bold adventurers are determined to find out why. [p Halfling, leather, sling, open hand,9,4/4]Potts[/p] down the 90ft passage way quietly and cautiously as Halflings may, and reaches the paired door without incident...

Upon closer inspection, the "pair" of doors are actually a single stone block about 12ft wide that has pivoted on its center, and thus created two openings; to [p Halfling, leather, sling, open hand,9,4/4]Potts[/p]' left the door protrudes into the passage, while to his right the door protrudes into the chamber beyond. The stone itself is some six inches thick and must be very heavy!

...[p Halfling, leather, sling, open hand,9,4/4]Potts[/p] peering through the gaps cautiously, and briefly spies the form of another large, open chamber. Immediately inside the door there is a perpendicular passage that is also a mezzanine overlooking a wide chamber, below. The orange and red light--whatever it is--clearly comes from below, as do the intermittent echoes of voices that carry to [p Halfling, leather, sling, open hand,9,4/4]Potts[/p]' ear.

| A PC can make two standard moves per dungeon-exploration turn. As Potts has a movement rate of 9" he can reach the doors in one move and peek in, leaving him with his second move for turn 3.11 still available.

Will he return to the company with news? Wait where he is? Or proceed through the doors to gather more information? |

Re: [03] The Ziggurat

Potts eyes widen at the sound of more voices, and although a burning curiosity to try and get closer beckons, caution gets the better of him and he returns to his companions to report his findings.

| Conclusion of dungeon exploration turn 3.11. |

[p Halfling, leather, sling, open hand,9,4/4]Potts[/p] catches a glimpse of what lies beyond and returns safely to the rest of the company.

| What orders for turn 3.12? |

Re: [03] The Ziggurat

We won't find the gold or our shield-mates by cowering the darkness, taunts Biratlan. And I've yet to see a craven amongst this lot. Let's go through yon door. These heathen are no match for our steel.

| Why don't we approach the door as a group and have Potts go in first and signal us to stay or follow depending on what he sees below. |

Re: [03] The Ziggurat

| Turn 3.12

Let us say the company do exactly that. It takes one move to cautiously approach the revolving door, leaving half a turn at your disposal when you arrive. What next?

Meanwhile, the referee checks to see whether there will be a chance encounter this turn; 1d6=3, so there won't be |

Re: [03] The Ziggurat

[pc Human,M-U]Sullivus[/pc] would counsel caution, entering the lair of an enemy of unknown strength and number. He'll drop Vergas's pack at the far end of the 90' passage and draw a throwing dagger. In his mind, he is reviewing the incantation required to cast Color Spray.
