Re: 10 - Tor-Xonor the Upper Ruins

Rhegaer and Alrik carefully look around. They are drawn to the pool where the Young Dragon emerged. The water is foul smelling and acrid but even through the murkiness it obvious the bottom is covered in GOLD!

ooc: DM rolls a handfull of dice

There is more gold then the group has ever seen on the bottom of the pool, as well as a crown, a necklace, 2 rings, 1 horn and 2 bone scroll cases.

What now?

Rhegaer takes his old axe and dips it cautiously in the water to see if it is caustic enough to hard the metal head.

Re: 10 - Tor-Xonor the Upper Ruins

The Axe is swished around and pulled out, it seems fine.

Rhegaer concludes after some testing that water is not so dangerous as to eat through metal or even flesh. It stings a little if left on the skin for more then a minute but other then a slight rash does not seem to cause any real harm.

Re: 10 - Tor-Xonor the Upper Ruins

Rhegaer thanks his sword for its hard work then sheathes it and carefully removes the items from the pool - the crown and necklace and rings and horn and scroll tubes.

These he sets aside for proper examination by someone with more intelligence than him. Then he begins moving gold coins into a sack.

Phadian

Quietly tends to Urist, waiting for his cure light wounds to take affect on him. Phadian had seemed distant but now is more focused.

Urist scratches Squishy's ears, pleased to have cheated death. When he has regained strength he joins in the counting of the treasure. He attempts a quick appraisal of the jewellery items' origin, age and value. He listens with amazement as his companions recount the final moments of the combat. "Dragonslayer!" he salutes Rhegaer with respect.

Faeraidel stands guard while Phadian tends to Urist, watching and listening in all directions for any sign of danger.

Re: 10 - Tor-Xonor the Upper Ruins

Phadian casts CLW on Urist: mgt's roll comes to 6 [6 on 1d6] - Urist feels the wave of healing and is able to move again. But the not all the scars fade, he will care someone of the burn spots with him for the rest of his life.

The Pool is 6-7 feet deep recovering the treasure will require someone to go into the pool and bring it all up. The coin alone is going to take a lot of time (there are 14,000GP down there)

Re: 10 - Tor-Xonor the Upper Ruins

Rhegaer examines the pool to determine if there is some way of draining some or all of it. Is the pool raised above the floor where some stones could be removed to drain a foot or two of water? Are there any buckets or containers nearby that might be used to fill with coins underwater and then bring to the surface?

Rhegaer then examines the rings to determine if one of them might be useful or if they are just jewelry. He looks for markings or impressions in them that would indicate a function other than just being a ring...
