Phadian

Phadian will move up to get a closer look, assess how big this thing is, also curious what that thing is below the left wing (is it some sort of mound).

Re: 07 - Exploring Tor-Xonor

The Dragon's skull is bigger then a full grown man, in life the beast must have been 40 or 50 feet long. The "mound" is just that a rounded granite rock.

How close does Phadian intend to get?

Phadian

About 30'. Just wanting to get a clearer look. Definitely odd that the vegetation is all dead around it. "That was one big dragon, I am not keen on getting any closer with the apparent ring of death around it <pointing to lack of vegetation under it>. I think we take a wide berth and take a tour around the hill, looking for trails or other signs of critters, people."

Re: 07 - Exploring Tor-Xonor

"Cowards, that dragon can't hurt you! It's been dead for ages. Look, I'll prove it." Urist scoffs at the notion that ancient bones still have the power to harm. He reaches into his pouch, pulls out a scrap of meat jerky, and tosses it into the ring of dead grass. "Squishy--fetch! Good dog!" (If the mutt appears to be at all harmed by the experience, then Urist will quickly pull Squishy back out again by the leash.)

Phadian completes is inspection... While Urist says his piece and urges Squishy forward.

Some DM rolls

mgt's roll comes to 3 [3 on 1d6]
mgt's roll comes to 5 [5 on 1d6]

Phadian shrugs and turns to leave having not seen anything beyond what he has already absorbed. Squishy starts forward but soon slows down and halts upon the threshold of darkened grass, he whimpers and looks back at Urist, he lays flat on his belly but moves no further. A low growls is emitted from Squishy.

Urist sighs. "Alright Squishy, let's go." The dwarf follows the others away from the dragon skeleton, still not convinced there is any danger.

Re: 07 - Exploring Tor-Xonor

The party moves on putting a little distance between themselves and the Dragon Bones. Beyond the bones towards the ridge where you see another cave you notice many tracks of large paws. Squishy is sniffing around like mad, and here and there you notice scat that is most likely Lupine in origin.

The sun is getting higher in the sky and the morning is passing.

What else do you do?

Re: 07 - Exploring Tor-Xonor

"Good dog, Squishy, you have earned this twice over!" Urist rewards his pet with a fat helping from his rations. "Wolf scat and silver thresholds can only mean one thing," speculates the superstitious Dwarf. "We might be wise to bunk in the Ogre's lair tonight, safe underground. Let us make the most of these daylight hours and continue scouting the perimeter. Let's see how far we can make it by noon and then decide whether to press on or loop back."
