Love those beautiful plain text tables :D

And I can hardly wait for the day when you're able to link to them live online!

So... Out of idle curiosity, what is our starting location?

The game will start in Alu on the Downs. From back stories you do not need to be native to this small town but for whatever reason you are there now. I'll cover it in detail on the first game thread but we are talking about a town of 400 or so, a market town for the hamlets and thorps of the interior. You can smell the sheep and goats, you can see the farmers going to the fields along the downs. Just after dawn you see a set of wagons and carts setting off for the 12 mile trip to Baymoor Castle. The rhythm of live here is slow and steady.

--Note you can start with whatever equipment you want BTB, however once the game starts you are limited to buying what you can find available. Alu on the Downs is consider Commerce Level 3 which means more advanced weapons and armor and simply not around.

First thread is going up today. In thread you are encouraged to speak in Character, often times it is helpful if you BOLDED you character name at the start and colored you "speaking" using bbcode. That way people who are just scanning the post will have the voice pop out.

As I said I'll try to get 2-3 posts per week up. I'll use the 50% rule, if 50% of the players seem ready then on it goes. It is a game of exploration and shared story telling so I will answer question and provide details through NPC's and other agency as the questions arise.

Apologies up front for my tendency to typo. You'll notice missing words and wrong words in many of my off the cuff posts, I'll do my best to catch them as they occur. If a post makes no sense because of this, just point it out. The thought in my head doesn't always get typed out by my hands correctly, yet when I read it I still hear the original thought unless I slow way down and read it carefully.

Hi,

A general question. In the first thread on "Market Day" Alrik offered to buy lunch for folks in exchange for hearing more about the area. So my character has actually lived in the area so would likely know of a place to eat (so I made something up as a place to invite folks to). Is that not kosher, or should I be more non-descript, or should I consult you in separate email before replying, or ?. There is a similar question about consulting library in the thread. My character would likely know if there is one in town, but I do not. Just looking for a bit of general guidance on such things.

1) So you did...hmm. My bad. In reality the food at the market day will be better then the food in the inn. So I guess I just did that. It's a such small population that there is no "fancy" Tavern, just a pub or 2 with whatever they happen to have on hand, usually stewed.

2) There is no local library.

But feel free to PM if you want specific info.

For number heads the Miltia -> Goblin Battle went down like this.

Round 1: Goblins charged into the set Militia line, init was rolled and both sides had a 3.
Spearman + Bowman got off first attacks with 8 out 13 hits
Goblins 2 lines deep slammed into the Shieldwall with only 3/14 hits
Shieldwall returned 2/5 hits
The goblin press leaked through at the Watchmen joined, goblins hit 3/9 and Watchmen hit 1/5
Results: 7 Dead Goblins 2 Dead Militia

Round 2:
Bowman withdrawn with Bailiff as reserve. Both Sheriff and Goblin Leader hold position waiting to step in .
Grand melee
Goblin hit 11/23 attacks
Militia hit 12/18 attacks
Results: 9 dead goblins 7 dead Militia

Round 3:
Grand Melee
Goblins 3/14 attacks
Militia 4/11 attacks
Results: 4 dead goblins 1 dead militia
Moral Check both sides goblins raw 7 Militia raw 5 - Both sides waver

Round 4: Goblin Leader rallies the backed off goblins and drives them in again. Rol rallies the retreating Militia and enters the battle himself. This is what the PC saw.
Goblins 4/10 hits
MIlitia 3/10 hits
Goblin Leader/Wolf 2/4 hits
Rol 4/4 of hits.... 16 16 17 17 <- It's good to be a HERO
Results: 5 Dead goblins 4 dead Militia

Round 5: Goblins Flee, Archers step up and fire, the rest of Militia are spent.
Results: 1 dead goblin.

I assume that 600 xp is divided by 5? So... 120xp each?

EDIT: Never mind. Didn't read the main thread before asking.

No worries... It was 10 1HD monsters = 1000xp + 20 100gp rubies = 2000xp = 3000xp total / 5 = 600 per person. I applied the +% bonus on the pc_list so you see. yay od&d and the fast low level xp, of course it evens out in the middle levels.
