For 300 gold, and a half treasure share, you have your choice of three experienced adventurers, who have heard of your deeds (about lvl 3 characters)
Bannon, a Paladin of Law
Henry, a fellow cleric
Cassandra, a soothsayer
The Paladin sounds intriguing - let's go with Bannon.

Re: Delve the Fifteenth

coffee is retiring his character, but we have had so many characters play, get a magic weapon, and then retire, taking it out of the party, that I am going to give Aldbane a Mace +1 so he cam join in the fun. I am sure another +1 weapon will eventually show up for Maloof Excellent, thanks! Aldbane ...

Re: Delve the Fifteenth

Aldbane, waiting behind the others, readies his hammer - if it comes to that he'll move forward into melee with the Ogres | (he has no offensive spells left) |.

Re: Delve the Fifteenth

Aldbane is fine either way, he has lots of oil and can use that against the blob. It won't net us any treasure, however, so maybe it's better to move on.

Franklin is willing to defend Aldbane while he checks for invisible swords. It seems worth verifying whether there is or isn't a sword, before we move on. Should only take a moment.
Sounds good!

Re: Delve the Fifteenth

^ The sword has disappeared, but maybe it's just invisible so it's still worth checking out! As Franklin enters the room behind Maloof, the sword and anvil disappear, and the three gargoyles come to life. Their intentions do not look peaceful Ah, I forgot that! Aldbane will still see if the sword a...

In the middle of the room is a gleaming sword stuck in an anvil
Aldbane also avoids the melee, instead grabbing the sword hilt, intent to pull it out of the anvil and pass it off to one of his martially-inclined friends (| Maybe Maloof use it? |).

Re: Delve the Fifteenth

Aldbane curses his lack of a magic weapon, and as Maloof did, turns to cast light in the eyes of a different gargoyle. Then he'll hang back and keep the oil fire going so Balbo and Drogo can keep attacking it with their slings (he has 5 flasks of oil).
